Over the past 28 years Andreas Breitfuss has forged a distinguished and award winning career in the hospitality industry which has seen him work from Europe to the highest levels of achievements in Australia.
Andreas’ first passion was his sporting career, where he represented Australia for over 4 years on the Australian Freestyle Ski Team competing at National and World stage levels. During this time, he captained the Australian “B” team from 1990-1991. His sporting passion birthed the discipline and determination that would become the foundation for his future high achievements in the hospitality industry.
In 1991, at the height of his sporting success, Andreas sustained a tragic knee injury that robbed him of his Olympic goal. Not one to be discouraged, Andreas sought new ways to direct his desire for personal best.
Trained at one of the World’s finest Hotel Management Schools Andreas acquired both Swiss and Australian Hotel Management qualifications also completing several graduate programs run by the internationally recognised Cornell University, USA.
In 1993, Andreas joined Rydges Hotels and Resorts where he became the youngest person to be appointed to a senior management role within the chain. In the years that followed, Andreas was positioned in each new acquisition and managed various business units within the innovative, international hotel chain.
In 1997, Andreas formed the boutique Hotel Group, Manor Hotels Australia and whilst in this position Andreas directed one of the hotels to winning over 8 regional, state and national hospitality awards. His marketing expertise proved to be exceptional as the flagship hotel was awarded one of Australia’s top industry awards as the ‘Best Marketed Hotel’ in Australia for 1999 and 2000 at the Australian Hotels Association National Awards of Excellence. He was also the driving force in receiving a further 7 awards in such prestigious ceremonies as the NSW Tourism Awards and Australian Hotel Awards.
Recognised for his outstanding individual commitment to the hospitality industry by his industry peers, Andreas was a winner of several regional, state and national achievement awards including the NSW Tourism Award for Contribution to Tourism by a Young Achiever. He has also been a semi-finalist in the Young Australian of the Year Awards and has been presented with an outstanding achievement award.
For over three years Andreas was at helm of one of Australia’s most luxurious boutique luxury lodges and wineries located in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Tower Estate encompasses the gold standard Relais & Chateaux luxury property Tower Lodge, Roberts restaurant, the historic Peppers Convent Hotel and the award winning degustation restaurant, Nine. During Andreas’ time there he guided the Estate to winning a cache of local, national and international awards including winning the “Best Luxury Lodge” in the World at the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2010 and 2012.
More recently Andreas is leading a team of talented hospitality people operating one of Australia’s leading catering groups encompassing the management of a range of high volume establishments.
